Phillaman Run Streambank Restoration Complete

The Phillaman Run Streambank Restoration Project began in 2022 with grant funding from the South Mountain Partnership. Over the past three and a half years, with additional funding secured through the Franklin County Conservation District and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Greene Township successfully completed the restoration of a portion of the Phillaman Run streambank.

This project is also a key component of the Township’s MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) planning efforts, helping to meet state water quality requirements and reduce sediment and pollutant loading to local waterways.

The Greene Township Board of Supervisors would like to sincerely thank the landowners who provided easements on their properties to make this project possible. Their cooperation and willingness to partner with the Township were essential in moving the project from concept to completion.

We also extend our appreciation to HRG Engineering for project design, and to Kinsley Construction and Aquatic Resource Restoration Company for their work in constructing and implementing the restoration improvements. Their expertise and professionalism were instrumental in delivering a successful project.

This collaboration demonstrates what can be accomplished when local government, conservation agencies, private property owners, engineers, and contractors work together toward a common goal. We look forward to building on this success as we pursue additional planned phases of the Phillaman Run restoration in the future.
