Traffic Signal Installation & Roadway Improvements
Greene Township announces that traffic signal installation will begin at the intersection of Walker Road and Kohler Road in Greene Township. Over the next few weeks, preliminary survey work, utility location, and preparation of signal foundations will begin. As work progresses, contractors are committed to minimizing disruptions and ensuring safe travel for residents and commuters.
In conjunction with the traffic signal work, roadway improvements will also begin on Walker Road around the intersection in March 2026. This project will extend through a small portion of Chambersburg Borough.
The overall project is projected to be completed by September 2026.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through this area. Please remain alert for construction workers, flaggers, and heavy equipment. Traffic delays should be anticipated, and drivers are asked to obey all posted signs and be prepared for changing traffic patterns. No traffic restrictions or lane closures are to occur between 6:00am and 9:00am or between 3:00pm and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, or on legal holidays and holiday weekends.
Greene Township appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.
